I would like to draw attention to the younger generation in Russia - its new, virile character, an earnest desire to be independent, to live, act and create guided by its own ideas and principles. The generation that knows and can do a lot, and in my opinion is ready to change themselves and the country for the better though is still in many ways held captive to the old traditions of state domestic regime as well as at times the inadequate and improper adoption of Western European way of life.

Each photograph is part of a chain of direct and indirect symbols representing the contradictions, expectations and internal urge to define one's own life course, of young people in modern Russia. This series is partly documentary because each character is chosen deliberately as the direct intermediary between the situation which it personifies in the image and personal issues of this person in real life.

Simplicity of picture here is the way to purify series from irrelevant signs and to specify the spontaneity and transparency of described problem in general.
